The Frames Live at Whelan's 25th Anniversary - 30 June 2014

We know it's no where near the same thing as real live Frames playing music in front of you with a collection of other humans in close proximity enjoying the experience - but our good friend Myles O’Reilly filmed this a few years back & we are all happy to share it now as a small consolation to the lack of gigs happening this year.

I was an accidental guest at this night having the good fortune of the Frames borrowing my harmonica holder and gaining a free ticket. I missed the start of the set because I was traveling back to the hostel to get the holder, which meant I had no idea beers were free. I had the pleasure of meeting Glen at the after party and told him I was the one who had lent him the harmonica holder and he politely returned a blank stare, and now having finally watched the whole show I know why because he didn't fkn use it haha! The most memorable night of my 2014 European tour and arguably my favourite gig ever. Got plenty of offers to couch surf that night but I think everyone was too hung over the next day to return my messages. I stumbled out of Wheelans at around 6am after a lockin to end all lock ins. Didn't realise til now this was on the toob. Sweet memories.

Great to see songs from this gig that we haven’t seen before. Well done Myles O’Reilly (and all the camerafolk) this is beautifully shot and the editing is spectacular - really makes you feel like you’re part of the show.

Now I’m sure I saw cameras at the Frames’ own 25th birthday gig in Cork... when are we going to see that?!

I've been so lucky to be at 2 frames concerts in Germany ages ago, and they range among my all-time fondest memories. Every live recording or vid revives these memories to an extend that is surreal.. Thank you so so much. for everything :)
