Don't know if this has changed since I mined last but as far as I remember while you're flying and pinging preferably as close to the ground as your comfortable with, ignore anything that says it's any further than around 12-1300 meters. ROC Minables in my experience and a couple other ROC vids don't show up past that, if it's further than that it's a ship minable. I'll check tonight and update this comment if it's changed but I hope that helps I usually use my cutlass set cruise to about 300m/s and ping every 4 onethousand and look for stuff that pops up within the 1200m range.
