The only reason the game appeared close was because of two busted plays. One was a complete fluke. Mizzou held BC to 50 yards rushing. THAT is the stat of the day. Mizzou dominated this game but got sloppy which made it closer than it really was/should have been.

I think with Mizzou‘s offense, good defense and good coaching they should be 11 and one in the regular season

I would also mention that some bonehead penalties and big missed penalties hurt Mizzou and made the game much closer than it would’ve been.

8 penalties for 91 yards is the stat of the day. Mizzou played really sloppy but was able to overcome that due, in large part, to a 2-0 turnover advantage. I wish they had played clean but I loved seeing them deal with adversity and have to work for the win and prevail.

Great commentary. That MIZZOU run game also contributed highly to keeping their defense off the field enabling them to catch their breath and be so effective. In general, I agree with your assessment of Cook but here is where I disagree.. He had a couple of big opportunities to hit receivers where he either whiffed or misread where his open guy was. He was hurried on a lot of throws and that is a credit to BC but in all 3 of his first games, cook has had trouble with the deep ball and sometimes an easy toss.

Missouri managed to beat themselves, the refs and a surprisingly good Boston College team. If and when discipline improves, small mistakes are cleaned up;
Missouri is going to be a hard out for anyone in '24
