I do this from time to time as when I started I basically collected anything that even remotely seemed cool, but now I'm trying to be more selective. Though it is hard to sell off some funkos as most commons won't sell for anything.

I started funko collecting properly about a year and a half ago and my parents always tell me to stop collecting all these mini toys as a 24 year old man but they don't understand the value of the collectionor the enjoyment I get out of it

That is something that non collectors don’t understand, sometimes is not just the pop but the memory of when you got it.

I just started collecting Funko pops last month with my bf and we are only buying what anime pops. Most of them are special edition or gitd and the lesser part are some commons that don't have variants. Now I feel like I am deep into collecting and I don't regret at all

I just did this a couple weeks ago and sold like 5-6 . Wanted my collection to match more and not be as mismatch

We just did this recently and I was able to pickup a Scare Glow grail that I wouldn't have been able to afford otherwise. It was a fun experience!

Excellent advise! It is hard.
I've let go of a couple collections because I missed out on to many must have drops and was to discouraged. It worked out so I can focuse more attention on my other sets. There's more I know I need to let go of but I'm not ready yet 😔

I went through my collection in storage and pulled a bunch for a swap weekend in October. I tend to keep exclusives over commons.

I’ve definitely gone through my collection to get rid of pops I’ve had that I don’t necessarily want anymore. Especially since I don’t have a lot of room so I had to start getting rid of pops to make room for more incoming pops. Just like you, I was getting everything I liked, but as time went on I’m more focused collecting pops that really interest me like MHA, Demon Slayer, Bleach, JJK, some Disney pops, etc. I’ve gone though my collection and have either given them away to friends or goodwill. I’ve also started reselling pops and some of the pops I’ve put up for sale have been from my collection.

I collect mainly star wars but a few dbz but the limited amount of grails kinda socks. But I can't ever get rid of Metalic whis! Ended up putting broly 6 inch chase for sell because just don't have enough display room for bigger pops so they were just sitting in the closet

Yessir great video, been collecting since 2013 and I do this all the time to refine my collection down to only what I actually love, I also rearrange pretty often to keep my collection feeling fresh and not stale 🫡

I did this like 3 months ago with my Marvel Collector Corps Pops, since is a mystery box sometimes you get stuff that you really don't like, so I got rid of all those in a comic book shop here and got like $200. Now I only have the ones I do love or I feel that are pretty cool.

I was just going thru this yesterday for maybe the 2nd or 3rd time lol I had trouble contemplating if I should get rid of some or just all of them together bc of how overwhelming it can get and you do feel like you start hoarding and also makes you want to be more selective over time with buying new pops.
