The fact that you actually did research before doing any painting speaks a lot of your character. As an Arab, I'm absolutely delighted to know that one of my favorite artists has such respect for Palestinians and Arabs in general. <33 Glad you loved the dish, too :))

Well, this got me all choked up.

You're so thoughtful to not just whip up a sign and leave it at that. You took the time to research how words in advertising and visual communications work in another culture. And then, you took everything to an even greater level with your respectful honoring of the ghost was just so beautiful.

You're such a good ambassador for the arts community.

San Diego is a wonderful community of immigrants from all over the world. All their traditions, culture, and stories are essential to our country finding its way to a brighter future.

Thsnk you for offering the food to the ghost. It literally made me cried. I hope Palestinians who passed away may be able to taste the dish again

It warmed my heart to see someone like you do your research and not add to the misinformation and bias for my culture! I’m so happy you got to try kanfeh and share a piece of my heritage with the world! I’ve been a fan of yours for a couple weeks now and it put a huge smile on my face to know that you support Palestine. Thank you for all that you do

Your artwork and integrity to doing your best is commendable and I respect you for it.
Also your skills as an artist itself is amazing. Thank you for using your platform for good, especially in these beyond troubling times.
And now I'm gonna cry 😅
Stay safe everyone, you all deserve to live with dignity, respect and love.

I’ve always loved your videos .. but this one made me tear up - your love and care for your work is always apparent and it’s genuinely so inspiring to see how much work and research you put into these pieces - and your comment about Palestine and the general atrocities Palestinians have faced genuinely meant the world - I pray for a Free Falestine, thank you again for always promoting both art and advocacy 💗

I wish other content creators would take note of stuff like this. This is a great way to show solidarity while still being "on brand" for your page. This was great, thank you for doing this. Also knafah is so good! You should also try Harissa/Namoura (it's kind of confusing because it has a few different names and Harissa is the name of a spice and a dessert). It's a semolina cake that contains yogurt, coconut, and butter, topped with almonds, and then soaked in simple sugar syrup.

I think what makes these videos so special is that you focus on connection, which is something your art helps to bring out, so that people have something to look at, to celebrate and stay strong, thank you.

I'm not from SWANA, but my heart belongs to it because I grew up there. It's coming up on a decade since I left but I keep a snapshot of it tucked away in my heart, much to my family's disdain. I've found myself looking at it more and more ever since Palestine's plight was brought to my attention.

Thank you for talking about it. Amidst everyone else screaming about terrorism and Hamas, your explicit support soothes my heart.

Beautiful work and words. What I imagine may feel a relatively small effort in the grand scheme of things has inspired and helped to give me clarity for the direction of my own life. Thank you to you and the members of the communities depicted for reminding me of the interconnected humanity and the things that connect us.
