Thanks guys, just went from my Vanquish to an 800. My best lesson was blocking out 14 on my machine because of ring pulls, then meeting another detectorists who went over where I had just been and pulled out a gold ring at 14. Lesson learnt.

i found out using my 900. the ground causes variations. from place to place., like with the 11" coil in huntington beach ca my ring (i found) is a high tone at 26. when i was in long beach ca with the 6" coil it was a low tone. like 13 - 15. which is usually trash. but i dig it as its a decent tone. even sporadic. on the 700 i found a small silver ring sporadic tone. have a good day.

how high/good conductors will have high numbers ..and low conductors will have a low numbers.. but yet gold is an excellent conductor and it still comes up as a low number on the target ID.... Even after it's out of the ground. How do you explain that?

I wonder if anyone has ever tried to train an AI to identify targets - if that works it could be a huge leap forward in identifying targets.

Still using my 16 year old e-trac, she’s still finding me the tiny hammered’s, cut half’s & quarter’s, a lovely machine but I suppose I should move up with the times?
