So many musical legends that had been dubbed washed up, passe and unsellable were put into the movie because Aykroyd and Belushi genuinely loved and respected their music

My friend John and I did the blues brothers for a talent show back when everybody knew this movie. It is the greatest movie of its kind. But, what other movie was filled with irreverent comedy and a soundtrack of the greatest blues men and women of all time? I will NEVER turn this movie off. I have stayed up way past my bed time many nights watching this movie. Upon further consideration, it may be one of maybe three movies that are perfect. I won’t name the other two, but this film represents this time and sense of humor very well without being mean. Well, Carrie was mean but she was justified. RIP, John Belushi, Carrie Fisher, Aretha Franklin, Ray Charles, John Lee Hooker, Cab Calloway. And whoever else I forgot, thank you for your work on this enduring film!!

Can you imagine how great it would have been to be one of the extras anywhere in this movie. Especially during the Shake Your Tail Feather dance. I guess even for the prison inmates.

John Belushi never wore the same pair of sunglasses for more than one scene. He would constantly lose sunglasses in between every scene he was in. So when he was getting ready to do a scene, they would have to give him another pair of sunglasses.
