Context: Tamla Horsford was a woman who died in 2018 under mysterious circumstances while attending a party at a home in Cumming, Georgia, USA. Horsford was a 40-year-old mother of five who had attended an adult sleepover party with seven other women and three men at the home of a friend. The next morning, Horsford's body was found in the backyard, and she was pronounced dead at the scene.

The circumstances of Horsford's death have been the subject of controversy and speculation. Initially, her death was ruled accidental, with the cause being multiple blunt force injuries. However, her family and some members of the public raised concerns about the investigation, and a petition was created asking for a more thorough investigation into her death.

In 2019, the Forsyth County Sheriff's Office reopened the investigation into Horsford's death, stating that they had received new information that warranted further investigation. As of 2021, the investigation is ongoing, and no arrests have been made in connection with Horsford's death. The case has gained attention on social media and has been discussed in the context of racial bias in the criminal justice system.

This case makes me sick as well. Someone knows what really happened to her. I don't think it was a accident. One of her friends tried to come forward and she was told to hush her mouth. That was the story I was reading. SMH!!! My prayers for her family.

This makes me sick because they know EXACTLY what happened to her and yet let her die and won't give the family closure.

They knew more than what they were saying. They claimed that she fell over cuz she was drunk but the way she was found, you can tell that she was clearly pushed over. As far I as know the last time I heard about it, they were looking at the husband. They all knew what really happened to her and yet they kept quiet about it cuz they didn't wanna get into trouble. Hope she haunts them. This is a sad situation. 😔

Horsford arrived at the slumber party at 10 p.m. on November 3, 2018. Attendees drank, watched football, and played Cards Against Humanity.[6] There were also three men at the house.[4] According to witnesses, Horsford got up at 2 a.m. to smoke a cigarette on the back porch.[6] The next morning at 7:30 a.m., the homeowner's aunt found Horsford lying facedown and motionless under the porch. At 8:59 a.m., Jose Barrera, the homeowner's boyfriend, called 9-1-1.[4] In the 9-1-1 call, Barrera described Horsford as lying facedown and not breathing. He brought attention to a small cut on her wrist, suggesting that it may be self-inflicted. A woman's voice can also be heard on the call speculating that Horsford might have fallen from the balcony.[10] The police arrived at 9:07 am.[6] The Forsyth County Sheriff department initially ruled the death an accident, stating that the "multiple blunt force injuries" were related to Horsford likely falling from the balcony due to "acute ethanol intoxication".[3] A second autopsy requested by her family revealed further abrasions to her body.[5] The family's attorney also stated that lack of evidence, types of injuries discovered, and mismatched witness accounts strongly suggested homicide.[6] On February 20, 2019, Major Joe Perkins of the Forsyth County Sheriff's Office announced that the case would be closed and that there was no evidence of foul play.[7]

The case did not receive public recognition until two months after her death, when one of the witnesses was fired from his county court officer job for internally accessing the incident report.[4] The case, along with the hashtag #tamlahorsford, quickly spread around the internet, along with suspicion of foul play.[3] In the summer of 2020, the nationwide protests against racism and police brutality sparked by the murder of George Floyd renewed public interest and advocacy of the case.[6] Under the pressure of public outcry, including posts from celebrities such as T.I. and 50 Cent, the Forsyth County Sheriff requested that the case be reopened and investigated by the Georgia Bureau of Investigation.[6][8][9]
The initial autopsy ordered by the Forsyth Sheriff's Office discovered "multiple blunt force injuries" and a high blood alcohol level.[3] Officials speculated that the latter caused her to fall from the porch and that the injuries were just a result of the 14 foot fall. Horsford's family and friends, however, were not convinced and called for a second independent autopsy; this was then carried out by the Georgia Bureau of Investigations (GBI).[5] According to the GBI medical examiners report, Horsford sustained severe injuries to her head, neck, and torso. They discovered cuts on her face, wrist, hand, and lower legs as well as a "laceration to the right ventricle" of her heart. The GBI toxicology screening found a blood alcohol level of .238 and traces of THC and Alprazolam (an anxiety drug) at the time of her death.[6]

Even before the results of the autopsy, speculation of foul play had begun to spread online.[6] This was prompted, two months after Horsford's death, by Forsyth County Court firing Barrera, then a court officer, for accessing the incident report internally on multiple occasions.[3] Hundreds of people shared the hashtag #tamlahorsford, questioning different angles of the case and calling for justice.[6]

The case was officially closed on February 20, 2019, ruled as an accidental death. Major Joe Perkins of the Forsyth County Sheriff's Office stated that none of Horsford's injuries aligned with foul play, saying: "It was a party. They were drinking. She was drinking. Most of the partygoers had gone to bed at that time, and she was on the deck alone."[7] He had interviewed 30 people, including family, friends, and other partygoers.[11] On June 12, 2020, Forsyth County Sheriff Ron Freeman sent a letter requesting that the case be re-opened and investigated by the GBI. He stated that the investigation was best undertaken by an independent law enforcement agency.[6] The GBI agreed to reopen the case on June 18, 2020, but did not specify when the investigation would begin.[7]

On July 28, 2021, the GBI concluded their re-investigation, ultimately deciding not to pursue criminal charges.[14]

This is why I'm always suspicious of groups of 'friends'. They will lie and cover for each other.

There was another picture you didn't get of the home alarming her phone about the doors and garage door being frequently opened all throughout 1am-4am which confirms or at least makes it likely that somebody killed her. I can't believe there are people like that around us and we don't even know who they are.

Ok so for anyone who dosent know Tamla horsford is her name she was attending a party or sleepover with the people in the photo she was found dead in the backyard of one of the woman’s house she was 14 feet below the balcony where she fell it is suspected that one of the girls husband is responsible for the murder or she just fell on accident no one really knows what happens so the case was ruled a accident in 2018 some people claim she was beaten and then thrown off the balcony but there is no evidence leading to that conclusion so hopefully that clears up any confusion.
