My boyfriend committed suicide on August 29, 2013. I was the last person he called that morning and all i said was i need you and i cried my eyes out. He was in the hospital when i left school that day and they wouldn't let me see him. I couldn't kiss him or hold him or hold his hand one last time before he passed away. At his funeral i kissed him and i let a tear roll down my cheek and onto his. This song reminds me of him. He was so strong but in so much pain

Ashli Whitehair.... introduced me to this song one night while I was sleeping over at her house. When she did, she said that it was true. I didn't believe her. We had a lot of long conversations that night. We shared stories, poetry, music, songs we ourselves had written. But this song... This went on my iPod as soon as I got home. This is the piece of her I will always have. When I'm cruising down the interstate in the summer evening and the sun starts to set, I'll turn it up and sing at the top of my lungs. She'll be in the passenger seat singing along with me.

Rest in peace Ashli. I'll see you at the end of my road and we'll sing together again in the afterlife.

I was in second or third grade when this song came out, and I would sing this at the top of my lungs without knowing the meaning of the song when it came on the radio. I'm now sixteen with a few friends that have or are still doing self-harm. I still love this song anyway, and I will sing this regardless.

I just discovered that my second cousin killed himself a few short days ago. While I did not know him, it was still painful to know that someone related to me, someone who was a part of my nearly picture-perfect family had killed himself. It brought up my own painful memories and suicidal thoughts. Altogether it sucked.
