Great video. I'm finally upgrading. I've been on 16gb of 1444mhz ram..and an i7 4790 since the 4790 came out(And I don't mean the 4790k lol).
I was contemplating going between the 3600 and the 2700 for about three weeks now. And ended up going with the 2700 just because it was a better deal in terms of price. I plan to upgrade to the 4000 series once it comes out though.
Just a bit concerned about the Wattage now

Thanks for the video, the dilemma right now is the r7 2700x is the same price as the r5 3600. Having a bit of problem choosing as I know the 3600 is faster for gaming and more efficient. The 2700x has 2 more cores and could be more useful for streaming and video editing. What do you think for a new build that I want to do gaming, streaming, and video editing?

Very nice comparison! I decided and bought the 2700 instead of the new 3600. However I would like to ask if 45c is an ok temp while idling...and some spikes to 50-52 when the cpu utilization goes to 5% for a brief moment. I do not think I mounted the stock spire cooler incorrectly, as I stress tested it with aida64 overclocked to 3.9 with 1.35v and the temp was 75 which I believe is perfectly normal. I have heard that the 2700 is normally idling at 35-40c. My ambient temperature is 20-23 degrees.

Hello! Which is better if I would stream with a virtual camera (game prolly is warthunder in 1080p which is quite a light game to play, i have rx570). Thanks you for still replying with the new comments

Amazing video brother! I subbed! I still have a hard time choosing tho :(
I would appreciate the lifespan of 8 cores vs 6 cores especially since next gen consoles are also going to have 8 cores. I do a bit of multitasking while playing games (which my R3 1200 can't really handle) but then R7 is quite a bit slower in games such as Fortnite, ESO etc. But R7 is €10 cheaper So it's a very tough choice honestly. .-.

Before you make your choice on the processor you are going to buy, you might want to watch a few videos on the motherboards that support the 3000 series cpu's. The manufacturers had problems initially with the 3000 series cpu's and so drug their feet on the mobo's that supporting these, you will have problems like getting the full speed of your ram as well as a lot of other issues that are just now being worked out. I was going to get the R7 3700 but when I started researching a motherboard for it I was severely discouraged. So now I have decided to stay away from all the technical problems and get a R5 2600 or R5 2600x and wait for all the bugs to get worked out for the 3000 series and by then I should be able to upgrade to a real monster due to prices dropping by then.

great video, I decided to purchase r7 2700 for 165 euro vs r5 3600 210eu. Was it tested on stock coolers though?

Planning to build one this week, I'll use it for multiple games like 2-3 instances of emulators (nox, bluestacks) on one monitor while playing rpg games like the witcher3 on the other monitor, and also for light video editing.
3300x = $130
3600 = $210
2700 = $180

I want to buy the 3600 but the issue im having is that the motherboards in my budget range don't come on latest bios update in most cases and I would need to update it myself but to do so you need a 2nd gen ryzen to do it and I don't have one. Do you have any opinions on what I can do to solve this dilemma

which one would you recommend for video editing photo editing, etc for productivity between these two?

Hi! Nice video. I'm on an MSI A320M Pro VH-Plus board currently using Ryzen 3 1200. I'm planning an upgrade but don't want to change the board (BIOS updates available) so overclocking is out of the scene. At my place the R5 3600 costs $240 and a R7 2700X costs $295. I'm confused what to go for. I'm aiming for a 60FPS (don't care for more) gaming and occasional streaming (on NVENC). Keep up, you earned my sub.
