Why the DJI Osmo Action will NOT dethrone GoPro

Good to see someone finally mention the bugs. I would still go for the Osmo Action because DJI always has a firmware update to fix them quickly.

DJI Osmo all the way (especially if it's first action camera someone own)
- price is cheaper
- good for daily vlog
- better stabilization
- lag is just on the screen and as long as it's captured it's no issue.
who has time to use the screen to look at the footage while recording,
it's often attached somewhere

DJI just release new firmware update, it solved the voice off problem.

It's a close call..but I think I'd go for the Osmo because:
1. Future updates will most likely get rid of the bugs.
2. Dji is doing better as a tech company in general and has a bright future.
3. I really enjoy DJI's systems and I am already using their drones (which have never failed me).

I don't know. It looks like the Osmo can fix its problems through an update. Great first try from DJI though

Although I definitely prefer the Osmo, I loved hearing your honest opinions as opposed to the hype train that we've been seeing. I generally just prefer the Osmo's low light performance which is generally the lighting that I use action cams, unfortunately.

GOPRO HERO 7 Black...I want it. Best vid I’ve seen yet on comparison. You won me over. Especially on the super wide setting, and no lag between audio on clip saving with the GoPro. I almost bought an Osmo action...then I watched this video. Super helpful comparison.

We have been avid GoPro supporters for years, BUT a major thing to understand, the Hero 7 is majorly flawed. Ours crashes ALL THE TIME, and we thought we must have a duff camera.

It turns out many of our friends and people on the net have the same issue. People give blub saying you need to use a small SD card so the GoPro can process the data (which isn't correct, but even if it was, you would think using the latest tech in 2019 by the pioneers of the action cam, surely this couldn't be possible).

We have lost countless clips of footage of dangerous stunts as the GoPro kept freezing, which then requires the battery to be removed of the power button to be pressed for 7 seconds to reboot it.

We won't touch GoPro again, and will be using DJI or another brand.

Did I forget the audio 🤦‍♂️ There are tests with credible YouTubers showing how the HERO 4'S audio is far superior.

Shame you you GoPro, for not resolving such a major flaw with your latest state of the art tech, and for not improving on a model made many years back.
