Recently started road cycling, and this was me documenting another milestone on my bike - crossing the 150km mental barrier, doing a proper Round Island PLUS Lamp Post One ride in Singapore, and completing my longest distance yet of over 160km.

Explore Singapore with me on foot!

I spent a lot of time decluttering, so if you're interested in my decluttering journey:

I also spent the end of 2021 bidding farewell to the unprecedented year that was 2020:

Please keep in touch:

Doing SG RTI century ride is next on my bucket list, hope to make it in 2024 or even earlier. A very inspiring video, thanks for uploading this, Jade.

Greetings from neighboring Indonesia!

Well done. Century rides for someone who's just started out not too long ago is a massive achievement. Often time with food and energy, u kinda often need to almost constantly eat on the bike for long rides like this, regardless if you are hungry or not. Energy drinks are an easy way to consume carbs if you are not comfy riding and eating at the same time. More centuries to come! Good luck!

This is a very SIONG one I believe! A group of good cheering friends did helps a moral boost. Honestly I don’t think I’ll try this 🥵. BUT YOU DID IT‼️ Salutes 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

Gosh Jade. You still look so fresh after an overnight ride :) Good ride there keep more videos coming!
My longest ride was from Trengganu to SG -520KM over 3 days for a charity ride event. Everyday just cycle like 100+km it was daunting, tiring and ass-pain but much fun and I super enjoyed it! Too bad now the borders are closed and we cannot cycle in to MY to ride. I miss those rolling hills in MY :D

I absolutely LOVE this energetic and fun video!!!! Having myself complete about 12 of these 100 mile rides myself, I know the dedication involved. BUT this video rocks!!!

Cleats are tough to start with but you gain much efficiency in the strokes. I have done about 12 century rides in Malaysia, Thailand, Holand, German events. Its important to discover your own pace and mentally prepared for climbs, like the dragon back of Melaka, 13 hills is quick succession or the final climb of the PCC Interstate on stage one to top of Frazer Hill and the final climb up to Cameron 77km uphill in the final stretch on the 2nd day. Cleats, not to worry, you get better with practice. The solid carbon composite sole makes up for the loss of energy on the downstrokes brought about by softer shoes of ordinary padels. Great to be able to do the first one! Hurrah! You will get addicted and get better with more rides. Hiding behind the peloton and try to keep tucked in no more than half a bike length goes a long way to save 20% of energy on long stretches. Assos bibs also keeps our butts from being shredded. Yes, they are expensive, but it saved my butt on my first day of Thailand Tour of Friendship from Bangkok to Hua Hin! Congrats, keep cycling, keep having fun and keep the breeze in the hair! Oh yes, keep hydrated and make sure you have enough slow release carbs and simple proteins (like sweet potatoes, Bak Kua etc) and fast release carbs (gels, bananas, simple sugar complexes), salts. Dousing water is never a good idea, you will thin out your system and will bong around 120km mark or the 4th hour. The fastest century we did, my group of 7 managed to finish 168 km Trengganu in 4 hours 7 mins. That averages 45kph....not having proper nutrition can be dangerous. For a newbie, well done! Yes, the effort is exponential, but the achievement is something nobody can rob you of.

Congrats. Our group just did our 1st 100 miles on 4th Nov, we ended with a pint of beer each. Our next target is 200km some times in 2022

Congratulations! It's still on my bucket list. What I learned about riding long distance: carbs fuel the body, energy gels/snack like cliff bars every 45 min, 10 min breaks every 15 miles, lunch with real food which includes carbs, a century might call for 2 lunch breaks. Food is fuel and carbs are a cyclists friend. I learned a lot from the GCN (global cycling network) group, their on YouTube as well. Congrats again! :)

Finally you did it! Btw i saw you at the rifle range few weeks ago but i was too exhausted to say hi and good morning to you coz riding up the hill is not my thing. lol! Btw have you tried riding mountain bike at trail like T15 or chestnut? You should experience it! Riding trail is more tiring than road biking.

Keep it up and ride happy!!!
