Pro Blender Artists use dozens of addons, which costs them $1000's. Yet they don't seem to care about that... and you shouldn't either. Here's why!

purchasing add-on that helps you on a project is a no brainer. Can't believe I just purchased poly heaven from this video lol. Thank you!

I appreciate the framework for evaluating what to buy. The options can be overwhelming and sometimes it’s tempting to get things for the fun-factor, so a sober rubric is useful.

"Photographer Addon" (now at version 5) is one that I purchased for a specific need but now use constantly. An absolute steal of a price for what it offers (for *my* workflow, at least).

Most add-ons I've looked into have heavy overlap with existing features that people simply haven't learned about yet so they think the add-on is the only fast or easy way to do it. If you learn the full extent of Blender's stock capabilities and learn the hotkeys, many timesaver add-ons are not timesavers at all. And if you use free assets and keep an organized folder structure of your past projects, then you have a large library of assets to use and paying for additional assets feels more like burning money and robbing yourself of experience of how to make things, which decreases your flexibility and effectiveness in the future since you relied on paid asset packs to hobble things together instead of learning how to efficiently make exactly what you need. Most crucial/obvious necessity add-ons are free, and I haven't been convinced yet of paying for any add-ons for the above reasons.

Uv packmaster and quad remesher are must haves. I even use quad remesher to fix/nicefy simple meshes all the time.

It kind of reminds me of the Fortnite model where you give the main program away for free but charge for items with in the game. Video games usually cost 60-70 dollars USD but I've seen people spend thousands on Fortnite just buying battle passes and skins.

Fantastic little video, thank you.
I work professionally but really haven't dipped into addons nearly as much as I should have.

The aesthetic of the plant on the wall growing out of your head bugged me so much I had to comment (move plant/camera?) Aside from that I find all of your videos very well produced. Great insight!

Must be amazing to have all this addons!
These prices in Dollars really makes things difficult for those that are not in developed countries. For now, I'm only looking for the free ones.

I appreciate your content..
This time around the editing was too flashy and fast that it caused me immediate distress and distraction and i genuinely could go past the 2 minutes mark. Switching from dark footage to a very bright one then immediately switching back was not appreciated by m my eyes and brain 😅

An honest attempt to help you improve 🤝🏼

The problem is the lack of price parity, if youre in a first world country earming dollars or euro's or pounds or whatever then its not as much of a hit as when your currency is sitting at 22 to the pound, a 60 dollar addon is equivalent to like 5 weeks of groceries for myself and i dont have those kinda savings that i can just throw at random plugins and addons even if theyre essential for professional work

As a beginner i think add ons are great really but also AS a beginner its important to learn blender as much as you can before using ad-ons its important to understand every aspect of blender ad-ons should be used once you genuinely understand atleast a couple of things
1. Your worth
2. How to make money using blender
3.your style and what ad-ons are for you
