I live in midtown. Be prepared to pay for parking or valet almost everywhere. Moved to Houston 4 years ago and I am still getting accustomed to the 10 months of summer even though I’m from Mississippi. If you’re ever in an accident, go to Ben Taub as that is one of the trauma hospitals here. Traffic can be a bear - so use your gps before leaving for your destination to make sure you don’t get stuck. Always read reviews on restaurants and be prepared to stand in line for GOOD barbecue. The Woodlands is about an hour from Houston but worth the drive. Pearland and Sugarland are closer but also a drive. Pearland has a great outdoor mall - Pearland Town Center. There’s plenty to do and see and you’d need about 3 days at minimum when you visit. 😊

The Uptown fashion districts which contain the River Oaks and Galleria fashion districts and lower Westheimer has great thrifting and art Galleries. These areas are reminiscent of LA’s Rodeo, NYC’s 5th ave and Chicago’s the magnificent mile . The performing arts seem( all performance and visual are located downtown in the Arts district. It’s impressive. Sawyer yards is another great area to explore art installations. Public art abounds in the central core of the city. If you are a life science geek, the medical center, being the largest in the world is a nice excursion. Check out some of the vineyards, wineries and olive ranches in peripheral metropolitan towns.

Great video! I may visit Houston, Texas for the 1st time in my life this year since I have 2 relatives who live there. The only place I've been to in Texas was a 2-day trip to Dallas back in 2018 cause I was fascinated with its skyline, especially at night.
