It's so f'ing hard. but remembering it is turning into catching it, into sometimes I can. So i owe you thanks, knowing and KNOWING in your mind and body are different. thanks for the latter.

The entire human experience is mental.
Our thoughts are so incredibly powerful. If one believes that theyre on the struggle bus, so it will me.
I recently went through a mental challenge, as i was feeling overwhelmed with the many facets of my life.
I elected to attempt a reframe, restructuring the "overwhelm" with "energized." These are just words in my head, and by transmuting them from the former to the latter i began changing my feelings along witg my thoughts. When life gets busy im beginning to feel like charging in rather than checking out.
I only changed my mind. "Overwhelmed" is becoming "energized" for me. After powering on the situation resolves itself. Change your mind and change your world 😀

It’s our responsibility to respond with ability. Sometimes it’s best to sleep on it b4 reacting

Anyone that considers following this message. Do it, the world changes one person at a time.

You can trigger responses in others and they in turn can trigger them in you. Remember all the logical meat rests atop of a big foundation of emotional, instinctual and animalistic meat that we have little to no control over. Assigning all blame to yourself is just as counter productive as assigning all blame to others. Identify those sources that come from others and mitigate them. Identity those that come from within and master them.

The reverse is also true. You aren’t responsible for other’s emotions or actions.

Its crazy that people nowadays dont want to take accountability. To the point that they would see someone saying something like this, that anxiety is self imposed, and freak out call him names and say hes a bad person for "attacking" mental health. And its funny because those people clearly cant handle their own emotions in a healthy way which is why they lash out in the first place

Thanks Ryan you changed my life for good

As a social species we have limbic responses biologically speaking that have the purpose of group survival cohesion. You are responsible for certain types of responses in others. Do you intimidate others covertly through threat of abandonment? One such example. You are definitely going to feel something in response and vice-versa, what you do with it though is then the question.

So true and very empowering to embrace ❤

Oh, how the world would be if people took responsibility for their own emotions

I dont know man. This short doesn’t change anything tbh. No one is responsible for drug addicts for being drug addicted but themselves. Yeah we know that so what? Just a small opinion: Maybe you could share more about your personal experience when applying Marcus’ thoughts into your daily life. It seems you like to quote his words a lot but I personally feel very distant to hear someone who lived 2k years ago. I am sure Marcus has left lots of good lessons we can apply in our life but nonetheless he hasn’t lived in the same era and certainly wasn’t the best reflection one can refer to as being a ordinary person. Marcus doesn’t resonate with me. But someone who filters and applies his words into practice does.

If youre depressed no way you can be as mentally strong as you

Hence the drive for self employment. Passive aggressive, micromanaging, small minded, petty "people in authority" thrive on upsetting those beneath them.

I get what Ryan is trying to say, but I really don’t think emotional regulation is this simple. It’s not our fault when other people harm us emotionally, but it’s our responsibility to manage those emotions and keep them from ruling over us.

Thank you, Ryan! I needed this SO MUCH today. 👍💪💚

I wish other people would understand this, too.

I really don't believe Marcus Aurelia's used this mindset to stay happy I feel like it hardly worked for him, prob worked enough to have him do more, handle more and destroy his bad and overwhelming emotions but I bet he didn't feel truly happy

This is ridiculous. Of cause other people can make you feel worse. When I clicked on this video I had no idea that you would, take this idea to such an extreme.
