I was using M1 MacBook air 16 gigs of RAM, sold the M1 and got myself M4 Pro chip 14' MacBook Pro. Apple officially stopped making 8 GB base RAM configuration due to more updates on the Apple intelligence. M4 Mac Mini is a beast in terms of sheer performance and future proofing. M4 Mac Mini is way to go!!

DON'T BUY 8 GB RAM IN 2024!

If your usage is 95% of browsing and microsoft office, then it's okayish deal (meant for people who use laptop very less)

If you want to use a bit heavy, with averaging 4-6 hours of screen time a day and lots of chrome tabs open, you are better off getting M4 mac mini + any monitor for around 60k rs (using student id). You are far better off with it. If you use laptop mostly at home, you really don't need portability, if you think about it.

Bought M1 for my wife a month ago in BBD.
She is not a power user, just beginner coding casual browsing.
And for 50k range, it is the most beautiful piece of hardware and software you can get.

I have bought Macbook Air M1 two years ago and still it beats any Windows laptop with performance and avoid headache of issues with updates and drivers. Of course I miss gaming but who needs a heater on the lap.

Got it for 50k. This device is just perfect. The hardware is absolutely amazing. You cannot question it at all, the software was bit confusing to use first, but the more you use it, the more sense it makes.

I have all three os on 4 different systems. For productivity get windows, for content editing get Mac, for ultra light activity get macbook air, or luner lake windows. For any web server etc heavy usage get Linux

I'm a mackbook air m1 user. I have been using it since 4 yrs. I have the base model. I never faced any issues with the 256gb storage but 8 GB RAM is where it all gets the opposite. I'm a UX designer and I have tons of tabs open on Arc, on Figma. There are a lot of lags and glitches here and there. I would suggest all the creatives to go for the m4 mac mini if portability and a little budget stretch is not the concern.
