Great videos. But at 1:45, how can you say that is not specific to one person? It is true that there may be multiple organizers, but the way the sentence is written, one could reasonably assume that she is the only one. Perhaps I am not quite understanding what "specific" means in this case.

By definition, one can only have one best friend. Perhaps it is because the title, "festival organizer, " itself does not convey a feeling of uniqueness?

What if, though, the writer of this article knew that Dottie Thompson was the only festival organizer? Would that have any effect on how the sentence should be written?

And what about a sentence that describes a CEO? Generally, that title belongs to one person.

Tomorrow, the CEO, Bill Smith, will be at the meeting.
Tomorrow, the CEO Bill Smith will be at the meeting.

I just looked it up, though, and it is possible for a single company to have multiple CEOs. In that case, which of the above sentences would be correct?

So if you added "the" it would make it specific enough to be the festival organizer "Dottie Thompson"

1:33 What if the friend was already identified?

I have a friend who lives next door. We have been friends for years. My friend, John Smith, is coming to my house for dinner on Saturday.

started at a 40/75, currently average about 66-69/75 of questions. I tend to get a lot of questions wrong in the last or last 2 passages. Are the passages in difficulty order?

Hello! I love watching your videos since I am preparing for the ACT in September. Now a question occured in my most recent english test, and I can't find my mistake. Maybe someone could help?

Yet until 1903, few visitors could gain access to the trees in the *park: there was* was no completed road.

A: No change
B: park: because there was
D: park; because there was
E: park;

I thought we have two independet clauses "Few visitors could gain access to the trees in the park" and "there was no completed road" and I could therefor go with E. But in the anwsers it says there is a phrase and I should go with A? Can someone please explain? Thank you so much!

Taking my second ACT test on 14 th of december, I wanted to ask you if I can improve my score or get a 36 in such a short time. My first score is 22, in this case is it possible?
I don't know exactly where are my weaknesses. Struggling really bad in the reading and science sections , I got 17 and 21 respectively. Is there any hope?
