Like being already said from other people the answer is "NO" because the glowing Apple logo is actually a piece of plastic which just lets the backlight of your screen through to have it glow. So if you don't want to use your macbook without the backlight (which is near to impossible in terms of use) you have to live with it.

it does waste a little bit. That light would normally reflect back to the screen, but now you have to turn up the brightness a small amount to make up for the lost light in the back. You don't get something for nothing. The energy has cost. It comes from somewhere.

Now buy new MacBook you don't need to turnoff. They don't have glowing logo.
