In this video, I'm trying onion juice for hair growth & shedding AGAIN! This time I'll be experimenting with the blend method and I plan to share how I make and apply the onion juice to my scalp. I'll also talk about other growth stimulating methods I'll be using over the next 90 days and I'll document it all on my hair growth t-shirt.

Since I saw your video i decided to use onion juice. For the past 45 days once weekly i oil my scalp at night along with onion juice. I do not add water or boil method. I chop one red onion and strain it and cotton ball it on my oiled scalp. The oil im using is a diy blend of organic raw unrefined coconut oil, vitamin e and castor oil. I measured my hair today and ive gained 2 inches. Yeah!!
Also, after i shampoo (no conditioner) i followed with a diy rosemary and lavender rinse and no onion smell. This will be my weekly treatment going forward.

Wow your haircut made such a difference. Try peppermint oil and rosemary essential oils. They are strong smells too but they seem to mask onion scents. Also I didn’t notice but maybe use gloves when you handle the onion to keep the scent off your hands.

Love the organic. Not everyone can afford it but if you can that’s definitely the way to go.

I appreciate the factors you share surrounding hair issues. I will finally try this recipe tomorrow using the blend method. My shedding is still bad.

Thanks so much for your onion juice experiment! Answered lots of questions for me. Also, please keep in mind that EOs are very concentrated and if you add too much they can be toxic because our skin absorbs them.

I tried the blend method at first and I didn't come back to it since; the smell was too strong and kept lingering around for few weeks especially every time I wet my hair (somehow it disappeared when it's dry). However the boiling method was great, I had no problem with the smell once I shampooed my hair, as for efficiency there is no difference btw the two methods, so better save yourself the hassle of the blending method :)

👍🏽 Good luck Rochelle. Looking fwd to seeing your results. QUESTION - have you ever noticed bumps on the hairline of your neck? Girl!! In the last year I developed these. I tried all kinds of natural remedies. 2 1/2 -3 weeks ago it came to me that possibly it could be from wearing my curls in a pineapple at night. For 1 week now, I went back to loosely braiding it. The bumps went away! I guess they were forming from tension. But I didn't wear it tight. I think due to long hair, it was getting pulled while sleeping.

Hey Ro, your shedding was a neat small amount 👍. I've been oiling my scalp and using a combo of dht blocker teas as a scalp spray. I'm dreading wash day 😥. 🤞 that the shedding reduces. I'm thinking I'll go back to your onion boil method video. If it ain't broke

Great video as always! I was very interested by what you said about having several different types of hair loss, as I have at least two myself (probably three but I get perplexed as to how to recognise what's causing what pattern of shedding). I wondered if you'd consider making a video specifically about your different types of alopecia, how they present, how they were diagnosed, etc? (Apologies if you've already made content along these lines and I've missed it...)
Thanks and best of luck with the onion juice! 🙂
Edit: Whereupon I watched your video from 17 Aug (sorry!) 🙄😅
It was really helpful; thank you for sharing that information. If you ever follow up the question of texture change I'd love to know the outcome! 💜

Couldn't the essential oil be an irritant to the scalp? I thought those kind of oils needed a carrier oil before applied to the skin. I would be more worried about that than the onion causing sensitivity. Please excuse my ignorance, but what is the scientific reasoning on why onions would help with hair shedding? Thank you.

Cooking I would think will cook out the nutrition in the onion. Your hair cut us beautiful.

I have never tried onion juice on my scalp. I have a sensitive scalp.

I wouldn’t even try this because that smell would be locked in. But I wish there was a way I could and be able to get rid of that smell
