The Joker design in Justice League is a great look and looks like a hybrid of the two designs

I always figured a big part of the redesign was just simplifying it for the animators. There are fewer shapes and fewer colors overall. Instead of the yellow eyes with black eyebags, it's just black eyes, and instead of the red lips, it's just no lips. The chin is also simpler. It's just less stuff going on, which is the sort of thing that makes it a lot easier for animators to stay on model and get things done faster.

Ok but that concept art design looks better than the end result. It’s not even the eyes for me, it’s the lack of lips😂

TNBA Joker always reminded me of Roger from Nickelodeon's Doug, lol

worth noting the eyes can also be a reference to not-allowed-to-show-up villain victor zsasz, who also had those eyes in many a comic

(also “spy-vs-spy eyes” seems more like it, considering how they function compared to the finger prince creatures’ bead eyes)

That drawing Nowlan did looks fantastic, and I think it’s because the eyes are way smaller than the ones in TNBA, and the face has a lot more detail too, with lips and eye lines.

In my opinion the black eyes should’ve been only used when the joker is in the shadows or if he’s really angry and is in a fight like a 2012 tmnt white eyes for example

For those who aré wondering how would look an animated Ledger Joker in the Harley Quinn show when Harley travels to Bruce Wayne mind there is a scene where Joker captures Batman and his appereance resembles Ledger Joker. So yeah, enjoy it. I love that show is like a spiritual sequel to Batman brave and the bold with all of that references.

I always like the TNBA joker, they used that version for darker stories too, which gave the creepy cartoon look a whole new level of darkness
