My student, Vanessa and I playing a couple of numbers. The first one is a number that appears across, not only all genres within American folk music but I Am a Pilgrim appears in many denominations church music. The second tune is an old Swedish fiddle tune, written by the legendary Hjort Anders Olsson who started his recording career around 1910. Hjort Anders Olsson (1865-1952) was born in Bingsjö, a, was the most significant tradition bearer of folk music after Pekkos Per in Bingsjö. It's part of the Swedish fiddle repertoire like Soldiers Joy, Old Joe Clark or Cripple Creek in Bluegrass/OldTime...
I recorded it a long time ago on an album with Swedish music played on mandolin, guitar, bass and dobro.
I would like to do another project - this time with both Swedish and American musicians.
