Jealousy of money and attention is a factor, race is likely a factor for some, being straight is a factor, and being friendly and not hostile as much of the wnba culture has been is a factor.

Here is how I know how much of a impact Clark has had. My 45 year old brother texting every night they play with stats of what she did. That man has never watch a WNBA game in his life until this season and does not miss a game now. She brought so many new eye balls to the game which had brought a ton of shine to all the players. It's like what Tiger did and took some time for everyone to realize. You protect the golden goose. Tiger made a lot of people rich and the game is better for it. Same will hold true with Catlin

What's crazy is all CC has done is come to the league and ball. She hasn't said a thing. Everything just swirls around her and she puts her head down and plays.

None of us need be a Rhodes Scholar to answer that question....

Clark has just saved the WNBA. These haters should kiss the ground she walks on.

I’ve never watched WNBA. I still don’t. I didn’t even know the Vegas Aces won the chip back to back. I had to research it. I do watch highlights now…. because of Caitlin Clark.

I started watching NCAA women’s game because of Clark/ Iowa. And now I watch the Fever. I actually became a big Fever fan- my goodness, the games have gotten so entertaining!

I’m 28 and never cared about the WNBA until now. Same with my dad and he’s 54. It’s sad that we have this type of discussion. It’s clear as day her impact on women’s basketball. We don’t discredit who came before. Clark just took it to another level

Arenas are packed with fans. That counts way more than the opinion of a few pompous players

How exciting that Nancy is on. How I respect every word she shares. Thank you Nancy for all you have given to women’s basketball!!

It's amazing how easy things become when you use facts rather than feelings like Nancy. Excellent interview.

Because of jealousy. Women like to compete for attention and popularity. Every story, pregame and post game question usually involves something about Clark. It' s the W, she's the 1 golden goose, unlike the NBA that has tons of stars that can sell tickets, shoes, etc.

My 15 year old daughter, who has never shown interest in watching sports with me, owns three CC jerseys. We are attending a game next month.

I believe it stems a lot from media coverage up until recently, like there was a huge gap between CC & AR. I believe now CC has created a gap after the break and definitely is the front-runner for ROTY.

CC is a prodigy. As a young girl, she recognized Maya Moore's game. For those who do not know check out Maya's resume and YouTube clips. Her parents drove 3.5 hours so she could see her play. CC was destined for what's happening. It should not come as no surprise. Think about it. The brighter the lights, the larger the crowds, she performs like Mozart, and she is the one bringing in the crowds plus national/international audiences and doesn't disappoint with her play and answers the bell for every game. Listen to her talk. People were talking like she was going to be a bust. Like she wasn't going to be able to hang. The haters haven't seen anything yet. My worry is that someone will injure CC on purpose. If that happens, the league will surely starve. Word to wise...let that girl do her thing and appreciate what you are seeing.
