Description:
The Canadian Rural Revitalization Foundation (CRRF), in partnership with the Rural Development Institute at Brandon University and the Rural Policy Learning Commons (RPLC) project, has produced a State of Rural Canada report. The goal of the initiative is to help put rural Canada on the policy agenda and to raise the visibility of rural issues, contributions and challenges within the country.

In this webinar, authors from the report will present on the state of rural in their provinces, and offer ideas, insights and provocations on rural development in Canada. We are also hoping for a robust discussion, Q & A with webinar participants.

Some of the core questions that may be discussed during the session include:

• How is rural Canada changing?
• How does rural contribute / benefit broader society as a whole (economy, environment, social, etc.)?
• What's working in terms of rural development?
• What has been happening to programs/policies, and do they enhance or inhibit rural development?
