I’m in high school and I’ve been lonely my entire life, never had anyone who liked me back, only friends, and yet I’ve had my heard broken once and completely shattered into a hundred pieces. This perfectly describes how I felt. I'm aromantic (people who are aro feel little to no romantic attraction) and despite me also having no desire for a relationship, I remember when how I was younger, people around me put such a high priority on romantic love and I was left feeling confused and lost.

This hit really close to home for me lmao.
I’m single and have always been my whole life. I’m in highschool right now and well yeah, most of my peers are out there mingling with people, especially my close friends. But I don’t- I just don’t feel like it’s worth it? I don’t know if this will come off as offensive to some people, and I apologize if it is, but I just don’t understand why teens nowadays are obsessed with being in relationships that are temporary (most not even lasting a month). For now, I like my peaceful life and yet, there’s this little part inside of me that tells me I should go out there and do the things my friends do. And I hate it. It’s conflicting. To qoute the song, “I just wanna fall love like all my friends…” I do too…its just, I feel like it’s too early to experience it? Then at the same time, it may seem too late when I’m already an adult? I honestly don’t know anymore.
