my understanding of link is you have to link to whatever condition it says in the box. So Gatchmon can link to anything with appmon trait. So Color doesn't matter.

It was hard to focus on anything but Digimon news today, they actually DROWNED us in news this time lmao
They also revealed the pack art for LM05 which features Gallantmon (or ChaosGallant?), so I'm curious if that will be a reprint or a possible Gallant Ace. The west doesn't really get the same kind of LM sets as Japan, so it's possible that LM06 will feature those 31 cards mentioned for LM05 in Japan.

So my understanding of how its setup for the Appmon cards is that they’ll all have the “Appmon” trait which is what Link will check for, wont matter the color of the digimons involved. Simple pay the cost and put under, similar to how Ragnaloard with the Legend Arms stuff works but are permanent buffs to the card (least assuming so since no turn limits were set for the effect or are listed on the card)

It's so unfortunate how much Pokemon continues to dogwalk every other TCG in terms of presentation. Like Bandai, you can't even spare a couple cameras to stream anything other than the top 4 of your WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP?

For those familiar with the OCG version of Duel Masters, the Appmon ability "Link" seems reminscent of Cross Gears, which were basically equip spells that after paying the cost would put it in play, then by paying the cost again, could be slid underneath a creature to add the abilities. Digimon seems to have taken that idea but simplified it by making you pay once and adding it as a Digimon effect as opposed to an entirely new card type. All that said, the effect SHOULD work regardless of color restriction (IE Gatchmon can link to Gabumon despite being different colors) if my theory holds weight, as Cross Gears in DM didn't care about what creature was being Crossed with it, so long as you had the right requirements to pay for it. (edit: noticing the [appmon] trait part of the card, linking may be exclusive to appmon only until said otherwise; everything else stands tho)

If those link effects allow the main digimon to be there, the color of the linked, digimon too. That would be sick

Like a lvl 5 red main digimon link with a green appmon in order to blast into Megagargo ace.

The Regalecusmon they show is pretty nuts imo.
Its a Deep Savers Aquatic level 6 that unsuspends on evolve, and on evolve or on attack if you got 1 memory it tips top sec, or if your opponent has 1 or more it freezes a digimon or tamer from swigging.
Imo perfect backup boss for the deck. In one turn you can swing 3-4 time on the same stack while also ripping their top security. Legit can otk on its own and then just evolve manually into Agisdramon just to clear a board. Gonna be cooking a bit when that drops

The “Coolest” box topper pack is actually all new cards, just with the same artists as the card arts that won the poll.
Also, Gatchmon’s Link effect only works with Appmon (like Gatchmon itself who is a “Stnd. Appmon”, short for Standard Grade Appmon), so colour won’t matter but it’s not generic for any Digimon.

In Oceania the regionals don't matter you just buy a ticket for the nationals and it's first come first serve

The best part is that thses cards look gorgeous. I'm starting from that beginning to collect cuz I'm just such a fan of the PG show and I love seeing old and new mons.
I bought some lots of ebay that I still havnt sorted through yet.
