I'll be honest, I've started FotD maybe 8 times and 6 of those 8 times were already fully lit. Usually my luck is bad but I guess I'm damned lol

Usually after a server merge they will light from my understanding.

Usually it's another player not knowing how to activate the fort.

Yeah, and I’m 90% sure it’s a 100% spawn chance as of season 8

Does anyone know how/why? I once sailed to an active fod and there was noone there, or so it seemed. Didnt stay to find out.

Me and my matey fought the FotD, got all the loot minus the kegs, took the chest of legends back to the closest outpost, was attacked by a kraken, survived, turned it in, celebrated a little(took a photo to remember), and as we were coming out to the sovereign decks another sloop slid up releasing a few rounds, Wobbles boarded and I ran the ship around seeing another sloop. My first mate quickly dispatched both pirates and flew back to our vessel. As I turned around to see if they were chasing... ANOTHER SHIP JOINED THE FIGHT, 3 ships total... We hauled asss out, picked up another reaper chest and turned it all in at the reapers hideout!
