a friend of mine had an old ford tempo that wouldn't shift she was a single mother and really depended on it for everything, she had called the junk yard to come and get it and i was over looking at it before they came and found the plastic cap dry rotted and came off so i took a soda can tab off a can and used it to hold the connector on the ball and drove it around the block so it worked until the new piece came i put that on and she drove it for another 10 years until she got the volvo

You know I’ve never commented on how much I like the 2 vid a week format I like it! Thanks Mustie.

I hope these are good trucks. I turned 60 years old and celebrated by buying a 2021 Tacoma. My first new truck!

That is a steal!! Looks like it needs some TLC! I have a 2008 with 156000+ and runs like a top. No rust. Keep her clean and serviced. Best vehicle I've ever owned.

I adore these videos of you and your friends messing around having a good time, doing mechanics. Nothing better.

Hey mustie all of those trucks have whats called a shift lock release so u can get it outta park completely without damaging that pin

Another engaging video. Always enjoy Mustie1 when he's fixing things solo, but these occasional videos fixing stuff with friends are always great fun. Thanks to ( Brian I think) for allowing us to see his new truck, hopefully more updates to follow

You're pup is getting up there in the human years.
Extra big hugs and pats on the back, it goes so fast. I know you know this.
Such a good looking pup too!

That friend of yours was really scary how he was not being very cautious!! Sure glad that you were there to Tame Him! That could've turned out really bad in a couple of instances! Great deal for him though. All the Best from Canada

The Top Gear Hilux was a 1988 diesel with 190, 000 miles on the clock.

Sir, I just wanted to thank you so much for doing these videos. Recently, I lost a dear friend of mine, who was a great mechanic and even better friend. He was a teacher much like you. I always wanted to be as good at fixing things as he was and because of you I have learned so much and maybe one day I will be able to accomplish that. He left me an old DOHC honda 750 that I am currently rebuilding. I really hope that one day you will do a video on a motorcycle with 4 carbs and DOHC. In the meantime, best wishes and keep up the great work!

Step 1, get a great deal on a non running vehicle . Step 2, call Mustie1 for help.

I was surprised you guys ran it that long without the water pump turning. Hopefully no head gasket issues from it. It was a great buy for $1000!

I've replaced the shift cables in my 5 speed Toyota Echo twice now on the bottom of that shift lever there's probably a plastic bushing/pivot, and a cup on the cable.
He says it looks like something should be holding it; there's usually a U shaped clip that clips around the whole end on the cable, when you pop it into the plastic on the shifter; it should click and lock via the U shaped clip.
I love my Toyota, but the feel and function of all the shift cables they use is garbage; longevity too.
They want about $900 for new replacements; I get em' $20 a set from the scrapyard. Truck's a steal either way.

Toyota sitting 5 years starts right up? Not surprised at all. Love it 💕👍🏻

Perfect timing, the thermostat of my car exploded (stupid plastic housing) and currently waiting for the new one to show up in about an hour.
Thanks for the video while waiting.

I love my 05 tacoma. Cheap to repair, runs as well as the day we bought it.

How many of you watch and when they hit a milestone check how much time remaining and am glad there is more wrenching to be done? confirmed the shifter works made me look, smiles for more time left!! :D

I've never been so glad to be in a place that doesn't use road salt! Thanks for the vid.
