I can’t even count the number of times I was told I was too young to be going through menopause… no one would listen. I finished menopause at 43

So much "fun" to be a WOMAN....
We struggle on many levels pretty much our whole life. Being a WOMAN is not putting a skirt and a wig on and declaring that you are a "woman"

I never realised perimenopause could happen as early as 35! I was fine until 40. I suddenly became intolerant of bullies at that age and started standing up for myself- not a totally bad thing😆

i gained more than 15lbs on my thighs n leg. i decrease muscle on arms. My belly grew fats. my face sags, my pores are huge. i grew lots of age spots all over. i also grew spider veins, i thought it was dirt then i realize it is spider veins. my cycle is shorter. my discharges is different too. i am having brain fog and mental block. my allergies skyrocketed. my eyes is much much blurry. my bones is much weaker even my disc. became much flatter than the usual like a surfboard. lines all over my neck develop, gray hair on my head is becoming more. I also keep having block pores. I am not aging gracefully but horribly. Aging gracefully requires lots of money for the spas and cosmetic treatments.

Dr. Haver, can you speak more to crash fatigue. It hits me periodically for weeks at a time. Feels like first trimester exhaustion. After breakfast I am hanging on by my fingernails until I can take a nap. Eyelids just try to CLOSE!

Doc, I am engineer so I am thinking as Estrogen declines there has to be reason that fat cells start going up, body is m/c, probably body needs that fat for something? Is there any study that correlates for how much estrogen decline how much fat? There got to be some ratio… I don’t think increasing estrogen from food or any other source will help.. we should check what is the composition of fat that body is storing and what chemical reaction we need to create so body can use the fat and create less symptoms.. estrogen is going to decline it’s natural aging …I am 50 and no major sign of menopause yet just recently got belly fat all of sudden first time in my life and I got heavier than when I was pregnant… haven’t changed anything in diet or exercise routine.. my other symptom is nausea.. without eating I am putting weight.. 😅 my labs are normal and FSH is 18..I feel only thing can help is exercise and stress reduction .. so we don’t feel the roller coaster..

When you're post menopause, is it normal to have low energy and weaker muscles, higher blood pressure, higher heart rate, and higher blood sugar levels?

I am guessing I am about two years in based on when weird symptoms started. When a new symptom surfaces, it seems to just hit like a truck and be severe to the point of completely disrupting life. As of earlier this year I can no longer work because I have no energy and can't concentrate/am falling asleep on and off all day.

The metabolic changes have not hit yet, but I assume when they do, it will also be as severe. Is there anything I can do to avoid them or minimize the impact? I am equal parts in fragile health already, but still thin (and vain) so I don't want these additional health problems to make my existing ones worse.

This is not true. Estogen actually lowers the metabolic rate because it slows down thyroid activity. However, estrogen prevents CENTRAL obesity by ensuring that fat is distributed to the hips and thighs and also regulating cortisol and insulin levels. Women with high estrogen levels have a lower metabolic rate, women with high testosterone have a higher metabolic rate, BUT they have higher insulin spikes, leading to easy weight gain around the midsection.

I suffered extreme hormonal bleeding for six months. The doctor gave me two options iud or hysterotomy. I made choice to get the iud and it did help control the bleeding about 70% of the time after four months, but I still feel awful. People tell you to get your hormones checked, but when I ask my gyno she said that they can't check your hormones if you still have a period. So how find out if you low on something?
