In today’s video, Anthony demonstrates how to Restore Black Plastic Fender liners to a NEW OEM look! Wheel arch detailing is often overlooked, but can drastically improve the look of a vehicle! Anthony Compares 3 different products to restore faded plastic and the benefits of each! Solution Finish, Gtechniq C4, and Koch Chemie Plast Star!

Cleaning Fender liners may not be the most EXCTINIG thing to detail, but it can greatly improve the look of a vehicle. Plastic Fender liners can almost always be restored or improved, but carpet fender liners are a whole different beast. For today, our main focus is on restoring plastic and trim back to black. Anthony uses a combination of steam cleaning with all purpose cleaner and plenty of brush agitation. A pressure washer or hose can also be used, but we find that steam detailing is plenty suitable for this. These particular fender liners have NEVER been detailed, or even dressed for that matter. Plenty of stains and oxidation of the plastic have caused these to fade and turn white over time.

After a DEEP scrub with Koch Chemie Green Star and a Detail Factory Tire brush, Anthony rinses with steam and treats the surfacer with a 1:1 70% IPA and Distilled water Mix. From there, each Fender liner is restored with Solution Finish, Gtechniq C4 and KCX PSS. So which one looks best? Well, comparing the products, Anthony prefers the dark look of Solution Finish, but C4 and PSS provide a GREAT restoration as well. C4 will have added protection from the coating, and PSS will be easier to “touch up” from time to time. Overall, all THREE of these products are amazing for restoring car plastics back to black, so the choice is really up to preference.

As usual, we hope you enjoy these detailing tips and tricks and can apply them to your detailing regimen. Thanks for watching!

One of mine is completely black again after a power steering line broke and sprayed fluid all over. I suggest that method, it was completely hands off

See I love this type of work Anthony I could scrub fenderwells all day long what’s wrong with me I think what it is as you’re seeing the actual visual changing something and I think that’s why I enjoy detailing I do it on the side my full-time job I’m a maintenance technician for a winery.

I've never used my steamer for fender liners, but I'm going to try it soon. I normally just let them weather the winter until pressure washer season.

Nice video presentation. The so-called fabric lined fenderwell seems to be more like a composite plastic material.

This is so much an Anthony OCD pride demo, not something I would do for a customer nor myself. Exception is doing a wheel coating so while wheels off a light cleaning is logical. I have never experienced a customer that looks behind the wheel or at those surfaces.

Pss works great with a spray head too it doesn’t clog at all and get a nice mist onto the Applicators. Especially for tyres. Also would like to of seen DLUX compared to C4

I have 99.9% IPA. Can you tell me how much to dilute for degreasing surfaces. Very great video!

Work smarter not harder….just spray them with any tire foam cleaner after you wash your vehicle and walk away…..keep them looking new after every wash….plus the money and time you save…..priceless

Excellent work! How would Motorplast compare to these?

Hello from Australia 🙃

Great video and what brushes and chemicals would you use after this has been done? The brush you used to clean the wheel arches would be to hard or stiff to use now on the treated surfaces wouldn't be?

Have a 2000 Toyota Camry LE that my late cousin gave me it was his father's Camry. I'm the 4th owner of the Camry. One problem the Camry has a protective coating on the underside of the Camry. Also in the fender wells. Why the person had the fender wells done I have no idea. They're extremely hard to clean with the protective coating on the fender wells. The front fender well covers are plastic or vinyl. The back fender wells look to be metal. Any suggestions would be helpful to clean and take care of the fender wells. Thanks much.
