Obsessing over playing a certain way and trying to impress people (mostly the people in your head) with as many licks on stage as you can is pointless; you will choke up and get nervous. Learning and obsession are two different things. One implies commitment the other implies addiction. I have to constantly remind myself of this. I am constantly beating myself up when I compare myself to others. It is better to stay focused and learn little by little and be satisfied with what you have. Tomorrow is another day. Skill takes time. Some play with emotion, some play with proficiency and others just play at the right time at the right moment. All are worthy.
