i honestly don't understand why being friends with your ex is bad, i mean if it was a mutual break up and nobody was holding a grudge then y'all have every right to be friends, if you know they cheated or messed up in a way the yes it will take a while but once you find that normality it's amazing. I am friends with my ex and i don't have a problem with it though others do, if you know what your relationship status is with someone then no one elses opinion is relevent because you know what you are.
