Used parts from napa, same cheap grommets but I coates the after instal with jb weld so they won't fall out evvvver. The ser screw isn't the problem.

I didnt get to crawl under the truck yet but my shift lever is just swinging. I think I'll try this fix first! Thanks man!

So yea. When I was stuck in the mud I found out that the 4wd shifter lever was not attached to the transfer case lever! So once I got on dry land I could see it was missing but had no idea what it was supposed to look like. When I looked it up I couldn't believe what a crappy design it was. I like your idea better though I would use a brass or plastic bushing on the bolt.

They got me for $65, it didn’t come with the rubber grommets or get this, the Allen set screw

Nice job I have a 2002 dodge ram 1500 went to the dealer bought the part 24.00 bucks. they told me the bushing are installed in the 4wd lever and the lever that attachs to trans fur case so the 4wd lever is $104.00 and the tran's fur case lever 30.00 bucks. I said are you out of your f-in mind I bought the rod walked out.on line the bushings are 11.00 f-in dearler ships your ways better
