Philippines Shows Video Of China's 'Axe Attack, Loot' In Boat Clash, US Warns Of 'Miscalculations'

A new video released by Manila of the latest Chinese-Filipino clash in the disputed South China Sea is likely to worsen already fraught ties between China and Philippines. The Philippines accused China’s Coast Guard of launching a “brutal assault” with bladed weapons during a South China Sea clash on June 17. A Philippine navy sailor suffered "serious injury" after the Philippines accused the Chinese coast guard of "intentional-high speed ramming". The Philippine military said China’s Coast Guard officers “illegally boarded” the Philippine rubber boats and “looted” equipment including guns. Manila's footage of the clash stands in stark contrast to photos released by Beijing, which did not show Chinese forces wielding weapons.

The Philippines should consult and train with the Indian Armed forces who successfully use Chinese tactics back at them. In these clashes too Indians used sticks with barbed wires and electric shock batons to drive back the chinese who were similarly armed. Since Indians are usually stronger and bigger than the chinese, the Chinese had to deploy personnel on a 1: 5 ratio
