He didn’t invent his own time he invented a different measurement of time

As an x programmer for 20+ years he's talking for real. People blowing this off like its not a big deal don't know what they are talking about. Everything about transactions is dependent first on where that transaction falls in the queue. Because its not just picking a random client and using its time.. its a complicated algorithm that must validate that transaction by using time. Juggling nodes from all over the world and time zones is superimpressive. Locking down how the timing works is also how its secures itself from hacking.

This was so brilliant it blew my mind. I've listened to the whole speech twice and will do so again with pen and paper ready to take notes. No joke it was that good. It's Jack Mallers at Atlantis 2024. Search and listen and be amazed.

The fact that this video (soundtrack) and the presentstion itself was made so dramatic is really overkill. Satoshi just made a set of rules that created a valid time range in which a miner can set his timestamp for a block he mines. It's super straightforward and an obvious way to solve the problem. This is one of the least dramatic aspects of the system design 🤦‍♂️

Holding Bitcoin over many years and experiencing the deflationary buying power that exponentially accumulates to you is a truly mind boggling experience. What a time to be alive. Even the existence of my consciousness fascinates me.

Tick-tock next block. Bitcoin time is 10mins (on average). If too few miners the difficulty drops to keep time. If too many miners difficulty rises to keep this time.

I've studied bitcoin so long and understand it so well I almost missed this great "introduction to bitcoin" talk. In fact it is the most enlightening of all bitcoin observations- and that's saying something. Mallers covers it brilliantly! Jack Mallers Atlantis 2024. Find it. Study it. What? You're still here? Get going!!!

So no one besides me made the link between his explanation and the practical implications being that of the movie, In Time.

Obsessing about something that is irrelevant. Bitcoin doesn't know time exists, only humans do.

Nobody ever thinks about time... but time is controlled by someone, and a split second smugging of the time can make hundreds of billions dissappear.

Perhaps, he meant, bitcoins has its own times of rising and falling, the fact it’s halving year doesn’t necessarily mean bitcoin gonna riser in this year, could be next year or next two years for the influence to take place . 😂

The halfing is the epoch. The effects of the halfing is from now on is getting serious, its from now in getting rare, it is only slightly through its expansion. Only 4 halfing in, we are early, imagine getting into the gold rush only 14 years in, we are early

Question, what stops another decentralized blockchain payment system from catching up to bitcoin? Why is that not a huge threat to
The value of bitcoin? Bitcoin and gold have had roughly the same growth VS the dollar for the last 5 years. So in real value it has been flat, just highly volatile. Just a question for the smart crypto folks.
