Regarding the headphone jack placement, well he does have a point but that can easily be solved by using a good quality DAC if he want's to keep the cord at the back. or as others have suggested, use the monitor's headphone jack or use a dock. but that said, the audio quality could be worse than when directly plugged into the mini's headphone jack.

Why do reviewers spend so much time complaining about trivia like headphone jack and power switch placement and totally ignore the outrageous price gouge on RAM and SSD expansion? Yes the base price on the M4 is good, and they surprised by throwing in an extra 8GB 'for free', but this now means that the cost of the machine is precisely equal to the total cost of the base memory size purchased as expansion: if the expansion prices were justified, the cost of the processor, PSU and case would be literally zero! Is it too much to ask that Apple give us a bit more memory each year for the $200 expansion increment?

Mac mini is regularly used for audio production. The analog on the Mac has high and low impedance making it ideal for reference recording

Why do people complain about Apple pricing strategy, this is how they have done business for ever. Either you like and buy or you don’t. Stop complaining about this as this is not changing anytime soon.
