They're adding AESA Radar but not the first ever plane to enter service with it that being the F-2. Typical Gaijoob.

Tranche 1 Eurofighters for Britain, Germany, and Italy. But the Rafale C *F3* for France, rather than the F1 or F2 that would be more comparable to the early-model Eurofighters? If this leaklist is correct, it's the Rafale to really get excited about.

Ofc Germany won’t get a multi role Eurofoghter Typhoon because no CAS for Germany top tier… Can’t have nice things. At this point just play France: good air tree, good helicopter and leopards in ground…

A bit of a mistake I think. Rafale haven't been build to be a air defense fighter in the first place. Actually, it was part of the argue between Germany, England, Italy and France. Ger, Brit and IT wanted to have a mid weight air defense fighter where FR wanted a light weight multirole fighter.

The Rafale had first air defense capabilities only because it is the most simple thing to qualify when buidling a multirole aircraft and also because the first rafale variant have been rushed in production to replace F8 on the aircraft carrier. But it is more of a ''fighter bomber'' itself than a air defense one. It's noticeable in its max speed, which is ''only'' Mach 1.8. Air defense was already carreid by Mirage 2000 C and Mirage 2000-5 at the time. And still today, our specialized air defense squadron is a Mirage 2000-5 squadron called the 1/2 Cigognes.

My take from this. Purely speculation.

The original plan was to add the F-18 for the Dec update, but due to the overwhelming superiority of the F-15E they decided to change launch priority. By adding the Eurofighters.

F-35 tech here; just say “Ayeesuh” for AESA. Its a common thing for us in service and even on the civilian side for military aerospace and other applications to sound out abbreviations.

its really sad not seeing F18 on the leak. however, not only that, no SPAA for top tier USA made me way more sorrowful.

Based on that leak list the actual Jets to be excited about are the J-10B and the Rafale. The J-11B could be insane too depending on if they decide to have it be the later version with the chinese engines and AESA as well

As a German I would be more than happy if he Typhoon comes to the game, but getting it before the Hornet is ridiculous. Especially if the the russian tree gets the Su-33 Flanker-D. The Hornet would make much more sense and fills gaps in multiple trees.

if they add all these aircraft with AESA radar i expect getting the F2 as well

Unlike the EF that was developed first as an air superiority fighter, it was not the case for the Rafale. It was made from start as an "omni role" : it can do everything from start, including CAS and more.

Hence it's impressive loadout capability, this plane weight ~10T empty and can take off at almost 25T (so it can hold 150% of it's own weight with fuel and weapons).
