How to Measure your Height with a Ruler

Can you measure your height with just a ruler, but no tape measure or stadiometer? Big Rob whips out his foot long ruler to answer that question! If you don't have a tape measure to hand, will your 30cm (foot long) ruler do the trick and is it an easy way to measure your height?

With ruler i am 183 cm at 3 pm in the evening maybe drops 182 cm, same as tape measure.

At the doctors office I measured at 163cm (5'3) but when I tried your method I measured at 153.7cm (5'0) :/

Good solution if you don't have a tape measure Rob but let me ask you something. I am using a 30cm ruler to do my height, and the 0 mark doesn't begin at the very end of the ruler by an extra .5 centimeter. Would it be appropriate to add on .5 centimeters to my height to make up for this addition?

Hey Rob, I'm liking the videos of late. Bit of a weird question though- when I measure myself, I come out around 5'7.5-75" range. But the other day my brother wanted to compare heights with me (he's 12, and already catching me up at an absurdly tall 5'3") and he measured me at 5'8.75", which is a mad difference (it was around early afternoon both times, and I made sure to flatten my hair down for both measurements). Why do you reckon this is, and what do you reckon is more accurate?

I did your method. And it ended on 4 times of the ruller and additional 25.5 cm. That makes my 4'10. But thats totally wrong! I was 5'1 two months ago. Can you tell me what am i doing wrong?
