Indeed, he's in a place surrounded by nature. Maybe he's with some friends. I've no a clear idea about where he might exactly be, but one thing is sure. He's away from the noisy city and the sight just looks amazing 😍

Hello Jennifer! Glad to see you and your students! It was such a useful lesson. To know of modal verbs and to use them correctly are different things. Thank you so much! I think the man from the picture may be a traveler. He might be in China, for instance. He maybe travels alone. He might plan to reach a new destination. He should wear a cap because there exists a lot of solar radiation high in the mountains.

'May' and 'might' are very similar modals and work in both the present and past tenses.
However, I would say that 'might' is the more commonly used of the two.

He may have been hiking when the photograph was taken. .
He may be hiking.
He might have been hiking when the photograph was taken.
He might be hiking.
