When I was young, J-pop was the biggest trend, mostly thanks to Vocaloid.

I went to Yoongi’s concert in Singapore and was so surprised of how many Chinese armies were there. They are so kind and I remember having a blast at the concerts with them. They even sang the song one by one (very good with lyrics).

I find Chinese pop music to often be too sappy and dramatic. It focuses on beauty and forgets it can also be fun.

To those who find most c-pop songs sappy, there is an underlying cultural factor. In Chinese culture we value harmony and peace, and we are obsessed with familial connections and deep emotions. C-pop values meaningful and beautiful lyrics a lot more than western pop music. That’s why most Chinese audience find music of hip-hop, rap or heavy metal genres noisy and not profound and hard to resonate to.

I would say k-pop is popular cause of it's trendy music which catches many ppls attention and the visuals which are on a next cpop visuals are no joke too...🛐

As a Chinese I can say I prefer Kpop or Jpop even though I don't really unterstand it xD maybe I just did not find the right cpop songs for me. Also I'm not living in China, though not in Asia as well

This is actually very interesting to me! I discovered cpop and kpop at the same time more than a decade ago. And as much as I love kpop, I often find myself x going back to cpop! There is something about Chinese music that makes me always gravitate back to it !

Listen to Chinese music, some Korean, the songs I would back to is Chinese music. But not the knew ones. It just feels like current Chinese music is trying to hard to be like kpop. I prefer the music from 2000-2016 Chinese music. I mostly refer to Taiwanese music which is still in Mandarin. A lot of artist had more differences. The Taiwanese dramas just aren’t as good as they used to be

I don't understand the hate for kpop sometimes . It's literally racism or xenophobia like when i tell people I like Taylor Swift i never heard people say a word about America or "oh u r obsessed with American culture" but everytime i tell someone i like anime or kpop atleast one person is like "oh u r obsessed with korea/japan
