Illegal Screen
Показать описание
A1 dribbles the ball up the court and stops just over the mid court line. A2 then comes across the court to set a screen on B1. A2 sets up the screen behind B1 which is out of B1's visual field. By rule, A2 needs to allow 1 normal step backwards without contact to B1 for this to be a legal screen (4-41-4). The screener in this play also holds B1 when making contact which is illegal contact and should have been called. Note: The trail official in this play does not notice the high switch properly initiated by the center official. At the time of the screen we have 2 trail officials on the play. It is perfectly acceptable for the official tableside to assist in this play and call the illegal screen. Since A2 came from his primary he should have had eyes on him until point of contact. Sometimes the official furthest away from the play has the best angle to make the call.
