This was... kinda beautiful. Is that weird to say? In a world where everyone has to analyze things and deconstruct whether something is good based on guidelines, it's nice to just hear an experience. Not whether it's good or bad under scrutiny, but how it made you feel and what experiences you had.

I got Awakening for my 18th birthday, but I didn't end up playing it until 2 years later when my friends helped me get used to the system. Awakening came to me at a time where I was beginning to step into the real world, and I was running out of games to play. I had all but resigned myself to the idea that my video game run was over, nothing new really interested me. Then this game got me hooked.
Much like you, I found myself getting really attached to the characters. The more time i put in, the more I learned about them, the more I cared. And by the end of the game, after getting the future Children and hearing their plight and learning about everyone, the final push against Grima felt like the end of a long journey with a group of close friends. What made this better was this happened on the last day of semester, as I was going to my first job interview. The final climax of the game, combined with the end of semester and the beginnings of my job search just felt momentous, as cheesy as that is to say.
So its because of that that I can never hate this game. I Love it, flaws and all.

Again, fantastic video.

So guys, you've waited long enough.
I have never made a video like this in my life. I really put my all into making this the best video it could be.
Unfortunately I can't make any promises of consistent uploads in the future, especially if I want to make videos of this quality. But chances are you haven't heard the last from me :)
Feel free to share your own Fire Emblem stories in the comments, I'd love to hear them.

*Corrin trailer for smash 4*
Me: "Who tf is this? Another anime fire emblem character?
*a few seconds later*
"Oh damn he has like a chainsaw sword, that's cool"
*Corrin turns into a dragon*
"HOLY SHIT THIS GUY LOOKS SO AWESOME!"
"WHERE IS THIS CORRIN GUY FROM? I'M BUYING HIS GAME"
And the rest is history...

This a really, really great video. The editing's great, and your story with FE is interesting too. Nice work.

My story with FE was a bit of an accident, as a friend had gotten Awakening, and told me it was good. I picked it up, and the rest is history.

My first taste of Fire Emblem was when I was in elementary school. My Walmart had a demo gba with Fire Emblem SS on it. I played the heck out of that demo when I could. I forgot about the series until Awakening started gaining steam, and didn't get on that game til 2015. Playing Awakening brought me back to that first gba demo, and it was heartwarming. I have since played Fates, Echos, and a little bit of Path of Radiance. Really want to play the older games when I can!

My first Fire Emblem was Path of Radiance. I had NO idea what I was doing, but the 12 year old me loved every second of it, and couldn't wait to play more games in the series

Watched one of your vids months prior, your style has greatly improved! I like the minimalism and the way you carry yourself in tone.

Awakening has a unique charm to it. I've played all English released games before Awakening in anticipation of when I could get my hands on it; Still holds the spot for my favorite of the series to this day.

Hope you continue making content!

I was first introduced to the fire emblem characters when I bought brawl. I had no idea who Marth and Ike were, so I thought they were an anime sword fighting couple (I thought Marth was a girl, so I shipped him and ike). One summer day, my friends were excited for the new Smash game and that is when I learend that smash 4 was coming. They told me about the new characters that were coming, but what grabbed my attention was robin. My friends told me that he can use magic, so that interested me to use him as my main (I chose pac-man over him however). After playing the game a bit, I noticed how Robin and Lucina had the same symbol ad Marth and Ike. My friend told me that they have the same symbol since they are from the same franchise which is called fire emblem. Few weeks after I learend about fire emblem, my friend bought awakening and he literally played that game everyday. Even though my friend played Awakening in front of me everytime I went to his house, I was not into anime style games, so I had no interest of playing it
A year passed and I stumbled upon a trailer for fates. I thought it looked cool, but it did not interest me (This is where I first saw Azura). When smash 5 was released, I played as robin A lot along with Pac man and Rosalina and Luma. The new characters and some veteran characters from smash successfully entertained me with their combat and this resulted in smash being my new fav game. When dlc for new characters were being revealed, that friend who played Awakening 24/7 (I will now refer to him as Bob for simplicity) told me that this dragon girl called Corrin is his new waifu. I watched the trailer that same day and the next day Bob told me that it was Smash's way to advertise the new FE game. Bob told me that he bought the FE Fates which has three games (birthrights, conquest and revelation).
Ps: this is where you will learn that I knew nothing about fire emblem.
I told Bob that I was shocked that the FE company released 6 FE games in the span of two years. Bob told me they only related two which was Awakening and Fates (he then told me how birthright, conquest and revelations are all part of fates). Even though Bob told me that fates and awakening were the only two FE game that were released from the inception of smash 4 to the corrin dlc, I thought that three was released because I thought the first fates trailer was a different game. On YouTube, a Youtuber I watched said that he was busy playing fire emblem lately and played lost in thoughts after that statement. I liked the tune of that, so I started to hum that in school. This was one kid heard me and told me that he also liked Azura's Song. I asked him who Azura was and he told me that I should listen to her song on YouTube for the full lyrics. I did when I got back home. It was at that moment that I realized that Azura was that girl I saw in first fates trailer (I also learend that nohr azura and og azura were the same person as I thought that they were different people from the first fates trailer). This is where I also learend that Azura was part of fates and that she didn't have a separate FE game. Due to this song, I started to research about FE and asked Bob if fates was a good game. After two months, I bought FE birthright my first FE game ( team birthright btw). I have to admit that I found birthrights a bit boring, so I stopped playing FE for a bit. After watching the Nintendo direct, I learend about echoes (my fav FE game currently) and heores. These two games saved me from the boredom I had with birthrights and these two games kept my interest in FE.
Sorry for this long story with a lot of grammatical errors (I'm writing this at 1 am). I thought it is appropriate for y'all to know how little I knew about FE and how I had zero interest, but a minor cutscene in FE Fates got me into the series. Fire emblem is probably my favorite game with Celica being my favorite character right now (Yes ik a lot of people hate her, but still). After echoes, I played revelation (which I also found boring story wise, but still a good game) and now I'm currently playing awakening and heores. I also bought and played warriors (wasn't that interested until I saw Celica).

Cool to see that you were making bangers even 5 years ago! I got into Fire Emblem all the way back when it first came over to the west. My brother and I loved Roy and Marth in Smash bros, so we ended up picking up Fire Emblem for the GBA, and I fell in love with the franchise. The characters, the gameplay, it was perfect. Been pretty much playing ever since.

You might not ever see this comment but keep on making bangers! You are one of the best FE content creators out there, and you've been helping me through a tough month with all the fun Youtube plays FE Shenanigans, so thank you so much.

I've been looking for one specific song in FE:Heroes, and happened to recognize a that jazz cover of it playing here. I love Road Taken's impactful rhythm.

My story was when i was a kid, i actually found Radiant Dawn just randomly at a gamestop. I always wanted to try the game with Marth and Ike in it, so i went and got it.

What i saw wasnt Ike or a traditional rpg, but a game with other colorful charachters and a battle system that i still just love. Even though the Dawn Brigade are usually forgotten, i'll always remember them as without them and Michaiah and going to comeplete act 1, i dont think i'd have ever gotten into the series. Edwards young but spunky nature, Nolan's older but wise sense, Aran's "let's just get it done" attitude. They're definitely not the best characteristically but i still felt a connection to all of them and wanted to see them save Daein.

After act 1, i realized there was actually more to the game than i previously thought. Playing through Act 2 made me find even more characters, learn how to use pegasus knights and flying units, play through an entirely different country through its strifes and troubles, it was almost a new game! It felt amazing as previously i haven't played a game like this before where there's more than one side that you get to play.

Then, had to get through Elincia's gambit. That was one of the most difficult levels in a game i had ever done period, and it's also one of my favorite maps in FE history. It was so grueling as i had learned how the system works but i was too scared to let any one of my units die that i got surrounded eventually since most of the friendly units just get decimated, but i pulled through by the skin of my teeth.

After that, act three came up and i actually do get to pay Ike, who was one of my mains in Brawl and though he looked different, he was amazing! The way he fought, how he was in-sync with his mercenary team, working with the Laguz to help bring them freedom from the human's, it was like being shown the story of Hercules in action! When i had to fight him with the Brigade, i was surprised and horrified because even i knew then that the brigade would never match up to what was essentially a Pantheon of gods as anyone who's played knows that the Brigade get suuuper level screwed. And also the fact that the 2 armies who are the main Heroes of the game fighting each other really affected me as again, i haven't played a game like this where Heroes that you have learned to care about and enjoy just fight each other to the death because of unforseen circumstances, it really showed to me that in war, there are no real Heroes or Villains, just which side you're on.

I could go on and on, but i already have. Since then, i have played Shadow Dragon, Path of Radiance which really solidified Ike as my favorite Lord, Awakening, Fates, and now i'm going through Sacred Stones and Blazing Sword with my friend who i also got into Fire Emblem along with Fire Emblem Heroes! I am just in love with this series and i hope with the attention it's getting that it becomes even better as time passes by.

Oh gosh, all the minutes in the awakening demo I spent! Birthright was my first game, and I remember spending hours playing it. I played awakening, where I actually figured out how to play, but then I got Echoes. I bought all the DLCs for a reason! Honestly, Echoes is my favorite even though I still haven’t beaten the epilogue :> after that I experimented with the virtual console games, but didn’t really play them. Later, got three houses and played golden deer, but never finished it. Now, my spirit has been rekindled as I play through FE1 on the switch. What a trip!

Dude, that was beautiful, I'd tell you my whole story with Fire Emblem but it would be waaaay to long so I'll give you the short version: I was feeling really unhappy with my life and worst was that I didn't exactly know why, not helping was that every single thing I tried would fail, I had to go to a grocery store just to use the Wi-Fi and I could only download demo's, it was until I played the Awakening demo that i said "I have to get this game no matter what" so i had to ask a friend to order the game online and then waited 2 or 3 weeks for it to arrive and when it did I immediately started playing and it was the best gaming experience in my life and when i finnaly defeated the final boss I was heartbroken because I realized that I would never beat the game for the first time ever again, but i still couldn't get enough of the game and i replayed the game over and over and as I did I could feel a huge weight fall off my shoulders and I was happy again.

So yeah, FE Awakening saved me depression.

How I got into Fire Emblem:

Step 1: Got a 3DS
Step 2: Accidentally watched a bunch of Fire Emblem vids
Step 3: Got interested in Fire Emblem
Step 4: Got Awakening
Step 5: Enjoyed it fairly well
Step 6: Got Echoes
Step 7: Holy bajeez that was so much better than Awakening

*the rest is history lol*

I have to say, your story truly resonates with me. I remember as a kid only playing Mario-like games, and when the fire emblem awakening demo came out, I was amazed. I remember watching the trailer over and over, and when I finally bought the game I was hooked. Of course, I had no clue what I was doing, but over the couple hundred hours I played, I mastered the game several times. Great video and editing btw keep it up :)
