📜Details : Leaving Rafti towards Arachova, at the beginning of the ascent, next to the shrine, begins the rough path (15' minutes) to the hermitage of the Brigaders that we see, wedged into the rock, directly opposite.
Is located in the picturesque village of Raftis in Gortynia. in the heart of Arcadia. It is a unique hermitage built in 1697, standing imposingly on a rocky hill just before the entrance to the village from Dimitsana.
The small chapel, carved into a steep rock, offers a sense of peace and connection to tradition. During the Greek Revolution of 1821, the hermitage served as a refuge for the inhabitants, maintaining its position as a symbol of endurance and courage. Access to the hermitage is via a path that requires caution, but rewards visitors with spectacular views of the Alpheios Valley.
