The Story Of My Life (Bacharach–David) was recorded by Gerry Grant and issued on Embassy WB 271 in January 1958. On the other side is All The Way (Cahn–Van Heusen). Here it is played on an HMV 102 wind-up portable made in 1939, which gives excellent reproduction of this later (and louder) 78.

Beautiful reproduction indeed. But be careful with 50's records as they've got more widely modulated grooves than older recordings as they're very well recorded, making them more prone to be worn by steel needles. Try a bamboo needle on them, they'll work most of the cases unless it's a too "violent" recording as some rock and roll or pop music.
