Blazing Fast Big Band Chart -Hallelujah-Big Band Reading Series Part 6

Показать описание
Here is the part 6 of a series all about drum set chart reading. This is an advanced technical lesson because of the fast tempo that is being performed.
I already have done a video on playing fast jazz and that can be found here:
You may want to wear headphones for that video since my speaking mic malfunctioned.
In this installment I play a very fast big band composition called Hallelujah from the Louie Bellson play-along book "Their Time Was the Greatest". The tune is dedicated to Buddy Rich.
I play the tune and then talk about plying fast tempos as well as my approach to this type of chart.
At the end of the video I show you some different camera views of the performance.
The Drums used in this video are Craviotto stacked Private Reserve kit.
The sizes are
Bass Drum 20x15
Toms 10x8 and 12x8
Floor Tom 14x 14
The snare drum is a 14x 5 1970's Ludwig Supraphonic.
The Cymbals are:
22" Paiste Traditional Light Ride
18" 1950's K crash/ride with rivets
16" Paiste Traditional Thin Crash
Masterwork 24" Swish/China with Rivets
Sabian 13" HH Regular Hi Hats
Mics are two Sennheiser MKH 800 overheads and an AKG D112 on the bass drum.
