It's truly amazing to me that only a few months ago people were 100% convinced T1 wasn't making it to Worlds.
Faker had an injury and T1 was absolutely floundering without him. It looked like the end for them.
KT chose them and made the fatal mistake of underestimating the team with the newly returned Faker. They destroyed KT and ruined KT's remaining season.
Then they made it to Worlds, and people said they would be knocked out by BLG and wouldn't make it to the Semis.
They 2-0'd BLG. They made it to the Semis, and people said they'd lose to LNG.
They 3-0'd LNG. All other LCK teams dropped off, and it was only T1 left standing to represent Korea.
People said T1 would lose 3-0 to JDG.
They won 3-1 against JDG, and in the process, managed to live up to the lines in the teaser and trailer for Worlds, ending the golden road and getting a bit of revenge for 2017.
T1 has outlasted all of the other teams that were said to be better. They have destroyed 3/4 of the LPL teams. They have changed up the meta.
Only one LPL team remains which happens to be LPL's 4th seed. Not to be underestimated as the dark horse, to be sure, but this is absolutely T1's year.
They expected T1 Faker at Worlds. What they got was SKT Faker.
If that's the Faker we get this weekend, he will not lose.
