The TopOak Galaxy 1.0 roof top tent performed outstanding on my 50+ day trip. I feel it is a high quality RTT over the course of over 50 days living in it on a real world cross country camping / overlanding trip. A high quality and budget friendly RTT is what I wanted and is exactly what I received. Their customer service is outstanding as well! If you are going to purchase don't forget to shop around. This is a budget RTT, but it is still a pretty large investment. I hope this helps put your mind at ease about getting away from the name brands and the higher prices. I was worried about that when I made my purchase. I am not affiliated with TopOak and this video was not sponsored. The only relationship I have with the company at the time of this video release is that I gave them money and they gave me a tent.

As soon as you glue a flexy Solarpanel on the tent, you can’t throw the handle-rope over the roof any more! That’s why I put a velcro strap to fix the rope on the black plastic handle on the upper back of the rooftent. Works well!

Great video. I have the same tent for the past year, I love it! Good to know how yours is holding up. I haven’t used mine in as extreme conditions as yours but I will be doing some winter snow camping early next year. I’ll let you know how it does👍🏻

just received my nature nest polaris 2 almost identical tent. Only real complaint so far as it didn't come with a bungie cord to help keep it all tucked in lol bit of a pain in the ass lol

Great video. After Rim Rocker I am considering a RTT for solo trips and Winter Camping. The salt on the roads and rough trails were tough on the trailer.

That usb cable is long. You could rope cattle with it.

Keep an eye out for weekly episodes starting on Nov 29th and running for at least 7 weeks. Tons of experiences on this multi-month trip camping and working along the trails.

I have a crazy thought. In regards to the pull down handle. Have you just tried to "throw it over the roof"? If you think about it, handle is long and is meant to help you pull the tent down for closure so theoretically its long enough to be thrown over the roof and lay against the flat surface and not in the way of anything. Even if you have tent bars for cargo, you could then drape it to the side of the roof bars on other side of tent facing jeep engine. And then you just throw it back for when you need to pack camp. That way it does not flop about and be a nuisance.

Hey! Great review. One question I have is where did you purchase the rack used to set the tent on top and tie it down? I have a ford maverick with a bed length of 4.5 feet and have thought about getting this for myself and two kids, but wasn't sure if it would work for my vehicle. Thank you!

any idea what size "nuts" fit in the t-slot rails? I'm looking at devising a method to be able to remove/install it by myself & not sure of what dimensions I shoould be looking for...thinking the "block" style, but want to be sure there's at least enough room for a 3/8 bolt to fit in the slots
