Webinar: Scaling Digital Innovation in Emerging Economies

On Tuesday 16th of May, we hosted a LinkedIn Live event to discuss the GSMA Innovation Fund’s latest report, "Scaling Digital Innovation in Emerging Economies". The report analyses the scaling journeys of 21 start-ups supported by the GSMA Mobile for Development and considers pathways to scale for innovative and impactful start-ups in LMICs.

Simone Hinrichsen, lead author of the report and Insights Manager for the GSMA Innovation Fund, shared key takeaways from the report. David Woolnough, Deputy Director for Research, Technology & Innovation at the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office, then shared more on the strategic partnership between FCDO and GSMA.

This was followed by an expert panel discussion hosted by Max Cuvellier, Head of GSMA Mobile for Development. The panel explored the fundamentals of scaling in LMICs, and three start-ups shared the stories behind their scaling journeys. The panel included:
