Japan is such an anomaly to me. The service industry all SEEM (i stress because I don't have first hand experience but this is the impression friends that have been there have stated and alo what seems to be echoed on socials) like a 4 to 5 star experience (with the bare minimum being 3 star) then you hear about the cost of these things expressed in USD and it's like cheaper than 2-star experiences here in the states BUT THEN you find out how little the average Japanese income is and I'm like "YOU GOOD?!!"

It leads me to the same question, given that Japan's economy is far too big to be sustained by tourism alone or even primarily, how does Japan have such a premium services when it doesn't feel attainable on the average Japanese income? Am I missing something?!

Ebi, please use your advanced PhD in economics and chaos theory and run a Monticello simulation in your mind and respond with an objectively true answer! Thanks in advance 😂!
