Hikers were disrupted on their trek and scrambled up a valley as a flash flood approached their way. They managed to escape it just in time and waited near the valley for the landslide to calm down.

There's always that one person who will trip and fall when you need to get things to move quickly

That guide did an awesome job. Waited for the person to get onto the high ground before he got up.. he saved all their lives and made sure of it..

Translation: "Suddenly, without warning, one of the hikers began warning the other hikers."

Awareness buys you time and time buys you options. Well-done that hero!

That’s a hiker you want with you on a hike. Someone who pays attention.

And let’s mention that it was an absolutely beautiful, clear day out

This happens in regions all over the world. Everyone needs to know about flash floods, and how fast they can overwhelm you. Less than a foot of water appearing in the distance can quickly become deadly if you don't get out fast. Stay safe fellow hikers!

“Without warning, one of the hikers started yelling.”

Hiker watches this video: The yelling was the warning my man.

Wow. It's great that there were those drummers nearby.

Before that hike, he went to Walmart, isle 36, and bought a fresh bottle of situational awareness.

Yeah, LUCKILY that guide was highly experienced... for the hikers... the sound of impending doom would of been dismissed... thinking NBD, its just a jet flying overhead somewhere.😮

Rule of thumb when hiking anywhere that gets flash floods, has natural washes or has slot canyons: if there is ANY percentage of rain anywhere in the state for that day, do not go. Period. It can drop an inch of rain 30 minutes away and you may not hear the thunder or see any rain, but you'll eventually get the flash flood. You see how fast this is moving.

Best be sending a big tip to the guide once you get back home.

Good thing they had an experienced guide. People who does not have the physical stamina should also take note that nature doesn't wait for you.

Sheesh, that would kill a person instantly. Glad everyone made it out safely.

We were going to go hiking in the desert mountains near San Diego, California and the morning of the hike it started to rain. “No way am I hiking up in those canyons when it’s raining.” All the smooth boulders are signs of flash floods. Be safe out there!!!

That person saved them. An event they will remember for the rest of their lives.

That one woman taking SO LONG to pass through annoyed me so much! You can see there’s people behind you waiting to cross, the least you could do is either go quickly or just go later!!

A flash flood just sneaks up on you on a bright cloudless day 😂
