From a historian's perspective, it's actually quite fascinating to watch the US eat itself and bring global chaos. As a person living on this planet, I want to hide and cry. Why does nobody ever learn from history.

As a Ukrainian-Canadian I'm doubly exhausted by Trump. I am however heartened by the overwhelming global support for Zelenskyy in light of his clash with Trump and Vance.

In 1994 the US and Ukraine (along with others) signed an agreeement by which Ukraine gave up it's nuclear weapons in exchange for guarentees for protection of it's sovereignty. Ukraine gave up those weapons. The US is in violation of that agreement. Our word under Donald J. Trump's regime is worth less than the paper it's printed on. President Zelenskyy has been standing up for his country under extreme situations for years now. The whole situation is sickening.

I hate this timeline.

Zelensky's face while he went on about hunter's laptop is about the same as mine was when I was watching that.

My issue was with them allowing a reporter to chastise Zelensky for lack of a suit. Like "who even are you!?"

I honestly have no clue how Zelenskyy managed maintain such decorum. As soon as they started blaming dead civilians and brave defensive Ukrainian troops for the war, my blood boiled to the temperature of the surface of the Sun. I hope the EU "Coalition of the willing" drops its intent to present a plan to the US and fully focuses on a military ousting of all Russian troops from Ukraine WITHOUT US support. Additionally, I hope European NATO nations have begun to consider withdrawal from the alliance since it now includes a primary hostile actor in the US. There's more of a likelihood that the US attacks Europe next than helps Ukraine going forward.

To hell with anyone that voted for Trump. As a Finnish-American, I cannot help but believe that the Ukraine of today will be the Finland of tomorrow.

It’s important to remember that in 1994, Ukraine gave up its nuclear weapons in exchange for security assurances under the Budapest Memorandum. The U.S., along with the UK and Russia, pledged to respect Ukraine’s sovereignty and territorial integrity. Given how things have unfolded, this raises serious questions about the enforcement of such agreements. What are security assurances worth if they’re not upheld?

Native Speakers using their language to railroad non native Speakers is a pet peeve of mine some of which is due to personal experience 😅. But if I remember correctly Zelensky spoke very little English when first elected so to see him hold his own in this conversation was so wonderful. This whole situation was crazy and should never have happened.

Zelensky is the first person that has given Trump the "Are you shitting me?" look in such a long time and it made him so mad. I think He had Vance be in on this because he told him they were gonna do a good cop bad cop shakedown. Trump couldn't shut up for a second and Vance was trying to get meaner to try getting Trump back on script, but since Trump is an idiot it just escalated and now we have nothing. Oh boy he cut off the funding great job Trump you're so cool and strong, that'll show him he'll never disrespect you again! You could have had those mineral rights but you just couldn't just let it happen without your ego.
